Women Come Together on Social Media to Support World Hijab Day

Not only does February 1st mark the first day of Black History Month, but it is also the fifth annual National Hijab Day. Both Muslim and non-Muslim women came together in solidarity to celebrate hijab-wearing women and recognize the hardships that come with the religious lifestyle choice. The #IStandForHijab hashtag originated from a movement Nazma Khan started in 2013.
